Das Verfahren läuft zweistufig und ist bei entsprechender Vorbereitung unkompliziert durchzuführen:
1. Antrag auf Erteilung einer Bescheinigung bei der Bescheinigungsstelle
a) Registrieren (online)
b) Antrag ausfüllen und einreichen (online und parallel- noch – postalisch)
c) Nach positiver Prüfung erteilt die Bescheinigungsstelle den offiziellen Bescheid.
2. Antrag auf Forschungszulage beim Finanzamt Mit der Bescheinigung wird beim zuständigen Finanzamt zum Ablauf des Wirtschaftsjahres Antrag auf Forschungszulage gestellt. Die Forschungszulage wird als Steuergutschrift gewährt. Die Bestimmung der Höhe der Bemessungsgrundlage für die Forschungszulage obliegt dem zuständigen Finanzamt. Sind in dem Wirtschaftsjahr keine Steuern fällig, entsteht in der beantragten Höhe ein Auszahlungsanspruch.
